The Art of Jazz:

A night of Shanghai Jazz at MoCA

¡¡

Once the Paris of the Orient, Shanghai has a music scene diverse with tradition and styles, yet it is Jazz that has best captured the city¡¯s transition over the last century. ¡°Shanghai Jazz¡± is Alice Jagtman¡¯s photo testament to the diverse and creative jazz scene in present-day Shanghai. Celebrating Jagtman¡¯s newly launched book, MoCA Caf¨¦ hosts The Art of Jazz paying tribute to the Shanghai jazz scene and honoring those that make it a vibrant one. Follow the beat of cool, sweet jazz as it floats up to the third floor of MoCA for a night of Shanghai Jazz featuring Alec and the All-Stars and special guest appearances by a few of Shanghai¡¯s renowned jazz vocalists.

¡°Jazz is the music of the body¡±
