MoCA Shanghai Lecture - The River Flows in Many Directions at the Same Time

Richard Layzell is a London artist who is working in Shanghai on the international 'One Mile Squared' project .
This new performance / lecture will explore his experiences of living and working in one square mile of South Shanghai, in an area that includes the Shanghai South Railway Station, The Botanical Gardens, Shanghai E Arts and thousands of people, including migrant workers.
His work in performance, video and installation - and with industry and communities - has been recognised internationally. He is an artist / member of the London research group ResCen and is the author of Enhanced Performance and Cream Pages. His interactive installation 'Tap, Ruffle and Shave' was seen by 100,000 people across the UK. He has received many awards, including the Arts Council England and the Daiwa Anglo Japanese Foundation.
He is also a lecturer at The University of The Arts London and Oxford Brookes University.
One Mile Squared is a Visiting Arts project.
The performance/ lecture will last for about 45 minutes
